Description

This piece was featured on 'Oriental Rugs Volume 5 Turkoman' published by Uwe Jourdan in the year 1989. Page 231 item no. 204. An unusual carpet, although structurally it can be identified with the Arabatchi. In both the major and minor guls, there is a similarity to guls found on some Saryk main carpets in color and border design, however, it reminds one of weavings by the Ersari. The overall density with which the guls cover the field is an unusual design feature, giving it an almost tiled appearance. In the upper part of the field are two rows of cruciform minor guls.
